Fight Back Self Defence isn’t about sending people home with a few fancy moves to impress family and friends, we’re about getting you ready and able to defend yourself against anyone for the rest of your life. Everyone has all the strength, ability and knowledge to defend themselves, they just need to decide to do it – to ‘pull the trigger’ – should a dangerous situation arise.
Our key goal at Fight Back is not to teach people HOW to fight, but to teach people TO fight.
Having said that, we will still give you some fancy tricks and moves, plus de-escalation techniques, as well as simple, practical and effective ways to strike and break holds. We can deal with any particular concerns or scenarios that our students wish to address.
We also emphasise that a Fight Back session is an enjoyable and fun experience – at no time is anyone forced to do anything they may be uncomfortable with either physically or emotionally.
It is not an intensive physical workout, so fitness, age and co-ordination are not important.
Participants can wear whatever they wish, although comfortable exercise gear is most popular, and a water bottle is a good idea.
